1 c. flour, all purpose 1 c. grated, sharp Cheddar cheese 1 c. milk, scant 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 lg. egg, well beaten Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Sift flour, baking powder, salt, pepper and mustard. Add cheese and stir to mix. Beat the 1/2 egg in a 1 cup measure, then fill with milk. Add liquid to dry ingredients and mix well. Bake in well greased pans for 15 to 20 minutes. Makes 12 in cup cake pans or 24 in miniature pans. These are good on their own, but better split and filled with a slice of tomato and onion if you like it. Avocado and onion is especially good. |
