THE PERFECT SPREADING DECORATING
FROSTING
 
2 c. 10x sugar
Dash of salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
4 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tbsp. milk

Mix 10x sugar, salt and cream of tartar. Cut in butter as you would for a pie pastry. When mixture is crumbly, add vanilla and 1 tablespoon of milk. Mix with beaters until all blended. While still beating, sprinkle with 1/2 tablespoon of milk.

OPTIONAL: To make chocolate, add 4 tablespoons powdered baking cocoa and increase milk to 1 2/3 tablespoons.
