APPETIZER LOAF | |
1 pkg. dry yeast 1 c. warm water 1/4 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 egg 1/4 c. butter, melted 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 c. flour 1/2 c. butter, melted 2 jars (2 1/2 oz.) Parmesan cheese Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in sugar, salt, egg, 1/4 cup butter and 2 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in enough flour to make dough easy to handle. Knead dough until smooth and elastic. Cover and let raise until double (about 1 hour). Line tube pan with foil; grease. Punch down dough and divide into 24 pieces. Dip each piece into melted butter; roll in cheese. Place 12 pieces in pan; top with second layer of 12. Cover; let raise until double. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes. Remove from pan. Serve warm with cold cuts and cheeses. |
