1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
5 tbsp. Spry (shortening, melted)
1 c. water
1 tbsp. vinegar

Sift dry ingredients together into ungreased 9"x9" pan; make 3 holes. Put vanilla in one hole, vinegar in second and shortening in third. Pour water over all and mix. Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve hot or cold.
