NORTH DALLAS CHILI | |
3 lbs. lean beef, coarsely ground or cubed for chili 1/4 c. beef suet 1 qt. water 2 c. minced onion 3 tsp. salt 5 cloves crushed garlic 1 tsp. comino 1 tsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. brown sugar 3 tbsp. paprika 1 (10 oz.) can tomato and green chiles 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce 4 tbsp. chili powder 1 pkg. chili mix 2 bay leaves Sear meat in suet until gray. Add water and onions. Cook 1 hour. Add all other ingredients and cook covered in a Dutch oven 45 minutes. Remove lid and cook additional 1/2 hour. |
