GOLD MEDAL OYSTER STEW 
1 pt. oysters
1/4 c. butter
1 pt. milk
1/2 c. cream
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

1. Pick over the oysters, removing any pieces of shell.

2. Melt butter in a saucepan.

3. Add oysters and cook gently until edges curl.

4. Scald milk and cream and add to the oysters.

5. Season with salt and pepper and any other seasonings desired.

6. Let stand several minutes to improve flavor, and serve.

Serves 4.
