FRIED RICE 
3 tbsp. cooking oil
1/4 c. finely chopped cooked ham, pork, bacon or Chinese sausage or combination of these
1/4 c. raw shrimp (shelled & finely chopped), optional
2 slightly beaten eggs
1 tbsp. soy sauce
Salt & pepper to taste
2 garlic cloves (minced)
3 c. cooked rice (cold)
1 tsp. MSG
2 tbsp. scallions, finely cut

In hot oil, brown garlic. Stir in shrimp for 1 minute. Then add meat. Saute 3 minutes. Push to one side of pan and stir in eggs until cooked. Stir in rice. Season with soy sauce, MSG, salt, pepper and scallions; mix well. Serves 3.
