CHRIS' BRAN MUFFINS 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. boiling water
2 c. Kellogg's All Bran
1 c. General Mills Fiber One Bran
1/2 qt. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs

Pour hot water over Fiber One Bran. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and buttermilk. Beat well. Add Fiber One Bran. Sift flour, salt and soda. Add flour mixture all at once with Kellogg's Bran. Fold in well until moist. Add raisins if desired. This batter will keep in the refrigerator for 4 to 6 weeks.
