1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
3 eggs, beaten
2 c. raisins
2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. nuts

Put first 9 ingredients in saucepan. Mix thoroughly and let come to a boil. Cool. When cool, add flour, baking powder and nuts. Bake in 9"x13" pan at 350 degrees until done. Frost.
