PESTO HOTS 
1/2 c. slivered fresh basil leaves
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 sm. clove garlic, minced or pressed
6 tbsp. (about) mayonnaise
24 slices (about) 1/4" thick French bread or Baguette

Stir together basil, garlic, cheese and mayonnaise until well blended. Add more mayonnaise, if necessary to make a firm spreading consistency.

Arrange bread slices in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Broil 4-6 inches below heat until toasted on top. Turn over and spread untoasted side with a generous teaspoon of mixture.

Return to broil until bubbly and lightly browned, 2-3 minutes.
