1 lg. pkg. Oreo cookies
1 lg. & 1 sm. bowl Cool Whip
1/2 gal. ice cream, softened (chocolate or vanilla works best)

Crumble cookies into bite-size pieces and combine with all of Cool Whip until all cookie pieces are coated. Using half of cookie mixture, spread in bottom of large dish (one that can be put in freezer. I use a 13 x 9 inch oblong cake pan).

Spoon ice cream on top of cookie mixture, using all of the ice cream. Spread out evenly. Top ice cream with remaining cookie mixture and freeze covered. This makes a large dish. I usually halve it.
