ORIENTAL FIVE SPICE COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
2 c. brown sugar, packed
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. butter flavor
2 eggs, beaten
3 c. flour
2 tsp. Oriental five spice seasoning
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. broken walnut meats

In large mixer bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla, butter flavor, and eggs; beat well. Combine dry ingredients and mix until well blended. Stir in nuts; chill until firm enough to handle. Form into 2 to 4 rolls; wrap in wax paper or plastic wrap. Freeze. Cut into thin slices and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. Remove to rack or paper towel covered newspaper to cool.
