GALA PECAN SPREAD 
2 (8 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese, softened
2 (2 1/2 oz.) jars dried beef
4 tbsp. onion flakes
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 c. sour cream
1/8 tsp. freshly ground pepper
1 c. chopped pecans
4 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt

Beat cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Add dried beef, onion, garlic powder and pepper. Spoon into a 2 quart souffle dish. Set aside. Melt butter in a small shallow baking dish. Add pecans and bake in 300 degree oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle salt over pecans and cool. Cover cheese mixture with nuts and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with melba toast or any snack crackers.
