ONION BEEF 
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. Shao Hsing wine or dry sherry
:
3/4 lb. beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced across grain
2 tsp. cornstarch
2 tsp. sesame oil

SAUCE:

1/4 c. beef broth or chicken broth
1 1/2 tbsp. hoisin sauce
Pinch of black pepper
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. minced fresh ginger
1 onion, thinly sliced
4 green onions (including tops), cut into 2" pieces)
1 tbsp. cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp. water

Preparation: Combine marinade ingredients in a medium bowl. Add beef and stir to coat. Set aside for 30 minutes. Combine sauce ingredients in small bowl and set aside.
