THE VERY BEST CHOCOLATE FUDGE
ICING
 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 to 1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. butter
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract

Combine all ingredients except vanilla extract in a 3-quart saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook 2 minutes, or until softball stage is reached. Stir in vanilla extract. Remove from heat and beat frosting with an electric mixer until creamy. Frost cooled cake immediately or icing will harden.
