WELSH CAKES 
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. shortening (half butter & half Crisco)
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. currants
2 eggs
Less than 1/4 c. milk

Roll 1/4 inch thick. Cut rounds 2 1/2 inch diameter. Cook on top of stove on griddle or fry pan! Then, sprinkle with sugar.
