1 c. butter
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Nuts; optional
Chocolate kisses; optional
Jam; optional
Sugar; optional
Jelly; optional

Mix first 6 ingredients at medium speed, until fluffy. At low speed beat in next 4 ingredients. Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.

Immediately press nuts or candies into cookies or press with thumb and fill with jelly. Cool.

Store in airtight container. Makes 6 dozen cookies.
