MINCEMEAT BARS 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. quick-cooking oats
1 (28 oz.) jar prepared mincemeat
1/2 c. chopped walnuts or almonds

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix butter and shortening and brown sugar. Stir in flour, salt, baking soda and oats. Press half of crumbly mixture in greased 9 x 13 pan. Mix mincemeat with nuts. Spread into pan. Sprinkle remaining crumbly mixture on top. Press lightly.

Bake until light brown, 25-30 minutes.
