CHOW CHOW 
Cabbage, cut up
Carrots, sliced, cooked separately
Cauliflower, cut off flowers
String beans, cut 1" pieces
Celery, cut in 1/2" pieces
Cucumbers, sliced

In a quart jar, add 2 parts of water and 1 part vinegar. In a small pot add this plus 1 can turmeric and about 1/2 can dry mustard. Let this come to a boil. Salt down and let stand overnight in a cloth bag all the vegetables. Take out and squeeze vegetables. Put in large pot then add the vinegar solution. Cook until soft. When almost done, add sugar to taste. Put in jars and seal.
