SOUTHWESTERN BREAKFAST CASSEROLE 
6 - 8 slices French bread
7 oz. can Ortega chilies
1 lb. crumbled, cooked bacon or sausage
2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 c. cheddar cheese, grated
2 c. Monterey Jack cheese, grated
8 eggs
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
Dash oregano

Butter French bread. Place buttered side down in 9 x 13 inch dish. Layer cheeses, chilis, and bacon over bread. Beat together eggs, milk and seasonings. Pour over other ingredients. Cover dish with foil and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until top is lightly browned. Serves 6 to 8.
