CHOCOLATE MACAROONS 
1 c. chocolate bits
2 egg whites
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flaked coconut

In a double boiler melt chocolate bits; set aside. Beat egg whites with salt until stiff. Gradually beat in sugar. Beat until it stands in peaks. Add vanilla and melted chocolate bits. Beat until all mixed in. Fold in flaked coconut. Drop by teaspoonful onto a large cookie sheet lined with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for exactly 15 minutes. Makes 22 to 24. Seal well.
