2 sticks butter, soft and 1/2 c. sugar, cream with a beater Add 2 1/4 c. flour (measure evenly) 1/2 tsp. salt Mix thoroughly with your hands into a big ball. Place in round cake pan (layer cake size). Roll out in pan with a small glass. Before baking, cut using a shot glass. Press into center of dough; then using a sharp knife cut wedges around the center cut. Take a toothpick and poke holes all over. Bake at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour or until light golden brown. Remove from oven and recut circle and wedges before it cools. Sprinkle with fine granulated sugar. Let cool. Use point of knife and remove center; then remove each wedge. Arrange on serving plate. |
