DOUGHNUTS 
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. flour (or less), mix dough as thin as can be handled
Salt and nutmeg to taste

Beat eggs, add sugar and melted butter, then buttermilk and rest of ingredients. Don't overmix. Put in refrigerator awhile before rolling out and cutting.

Test grease so not too hot or cold by a small piece of dough.
