CRUNCHY APPLE BAKE 
6 med. apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. sherry
1 c. flour
2/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, beaten

Wash, dry and quarter apples. Core, peel and slice into shallow baking dish.

In a cup, stir together cinnamon, nutmeg and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Sprinkle over apples. Sprinkle on the sherry.

In a bowl stir together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder. Mix in beaten egg with fork. Mixture will be crumbly. Scatter it over apples. Bake in quick oven for 45 minutes or until top surface is brown and apples are soft. Serve warm with Creamy Wine Sauce.

CREAMY WINE SAUCE: (Double)
1/3 c. soft butter
1 c. confectioners' sugar
3 tbsp. milk
3 tbsp. sherry
