RECIPE COLLECTION
“GUACAMOLE DIP” IS IN:

GUACAMOLE DIP
2 ripe avocados
1 scant tsp. salt (more or less, to taste)
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 cloves garlic
1/3 tsp. red pepper
1/2 tbsp. grated onion
2 dashes hot pepper sauce (optional)

Wash, peel, pit and mash avocados. Finely mince the garlic.

In a small cup, add salt, minced garlic and lemon juice. Set aside to soak for 15-30 minutes. This takes the "edge" off the garlic. Add remaining ingredients.

This can be made in a food processor or using a blender.

Serve with crackers and tortilla chips.

Makes about 1 1/2 cups.

This is an easy and excellent recipe. Tweaked it a little to our liking.
-instead of grated onion, we did onion powder.
-on top of the 2 dashes of hot pepper sauce "Tabasco brand" we added a few teaspoon full of Tabasco jalapeno green pepper sauce and crushed up 1 sleeve of Ritz crackers to give it a little something extra to it.
It was awesome and my husband just about ate it all up, not knowing if he was going to like it.
Thanks for this recipe!!

Jo-Jo, so basically you are reviewing a completely different recipe, one that you created.

Very good but a little too salty for my taste. I will use a little less salt but otherwise, great!

This was very easy and quick to make, and delicious. I was particularly looking for a guacamole dip that was heavy on garlic and light on onion, and this one was a hit. The only change I made was to halve the salt and to use onion powder for the grated onion. The whole amount of salt would probably be fine as well.
