RED VELVET POUND CAKE | |
1 stick butter 1 c. Crisco 3 c. sugar 1 c. sweet milk 3 c. cake flour 1 tsp. vanilla 1 oz. bottle red food coloring 7 eggs less 2 whites Cream butter, Crisco and sugar until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time; mix well after each. Add flour and milk alternately. Add vanilla and food coloring, mixing well. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 45 minutes or until it pulls away from sides of pan. |
