SWEET AND SOUR MACARONI (GERMAN) 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. macaroni (elbow)
1 lg. can tomatoes, mashed
3 or 4 tbsp. catsup
6 slices bacon, diced
1 lg. onion
3 or 4 tbsp. vinegar and sugar to taste

Boil macaroni in salted water until tender and drain into collander. While macaroni is cooking, fry bacon until almost crisp, remove from pan and brown onions in bacon grease. Add bacon and onion to tomatoes and catsup. Add vinegar and sugar until taste is right. Cover pan and let simmer for about 10 minutes to blend flavors.
