DRESSING FOR GARDEN LETTUCE 
1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
3/4 c. water

Mix this flour and water in slowly until flour is not lumpy. Then add 1/4 cup vinegar. Cook and stir until it comes to a boil. Remove from heat and 1 tablespoon of butter, let cool, then pour over dressing. Serve with fried bacon strips.
