DRESSING FOR GARDEN LETTUCE | |
5 slices bacon 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. cornstarch 1/2 tsp. salt 1 beaten egg 1 c. water 1/3 c. vinegar 2 tsp. minced onion Fry bacon, drain and crumble. Mix sugar, cornstarch and salt. Mix egg, water, vinegar and onion. Add to sugar mixture and cook in 2 tablespoons bacon drippings until thickened. Add bacon and serve over greens. Serves 6. |
