CREAM OF BROCCOLI SOUP 
1 1/2 qt. water (6 c.)
10 oz. pkg. frozen chopped broccoli
3/4 c. chopped onion
2 tsp. white pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
8 oz. American cheese shredded (2 c.)
1 c. milk
1 c. cream
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. all-purpose flour (or cornstarch)
1/2 c. cold water

In 3 quart saucepan, bring 1 1/2 quarts water to a boil. Add broccoli and onions and boil 10 minutes. Add seasonings and shredded cheese. Stir until cheese melts. Add milk, cream and butter; stir and heat to boiling. Slowly add flour or cornstarch to water and then into soup mixture stirring until soup is thick. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
