OLD-TIME POPCORN BALLS 
5 qt. popped corn
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla

Try to keep popcorn warm. Butter sides of saucepan. In it combine all ingredients except popped corn and vanilla. Cook to hard ball stage (250 degrees). Add vanilla. Pour slowly over hot popped corn, stirring just to mix thoroughly. Butter hands lightly; shape popped corn mixture into balls. Makes 15-20 balls.
