SUGAR AND SPICE DOUGHNUTS 
3 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
4 eggs
2/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. milk
1/3 c. melted butter
3/4 tsp. lemon rind
Fat fry frying
Cinnamon and sugar mixture

Sift flour with baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Beat eggs until light. Add sugar gradually, beating very thick. Then stir in milk, butter, and lemon rind; mix in flour mixture. Refrigerate 1 hour. On well floured surface, roll dough about 3/8 inch thick. Cut. Let stand for a few minutes and fry. Roll in cinnamon and sugar mixture.
