Mix together:
Set aside. 1 c. butter 2 eggs 3 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg and allspice 2 tsp. almond extract 2 tsp. baking powder 2 c. raisins 1 c. chopped walnuts 1 c. chopped pecans 1 can coconut (flaked) 2 c. currants 1 (4 oz.) pkg. chopped figs 1 (4 oz.) pkg. chopped dates 1/2 lb. red candied cherries 1/2 lb. green candied cherries 1/2 lb. chopped candied pineapple
Mix applesauce and soda; set aside. Cream sugar and butter; add eggs, one at a time, and flavoring. Sift together 3 cups flour and dry ingredients (use 1/2 cup flour to dredge fruit and nuts). Add flour to butter alternately with applesauce. Add fruit and nuts last. Line tube pans with greased brown paper (do not flour). Pour in dough. Bake at 225 degrees at least 3 hours or until toothpick or straw comes out clean. Let cool in pan. Cover with cloth covered with wine or brandy. Keep in covered box. Can be frozen.
