GRANDMA'S MOLASSES BANANA BREAD 
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 egg
1 c. Grandma's molasses, gold label
3 large bananas, mashed, (about 2 c.)
1 c. whole wheat flour
1/4 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg, (optional)
1/2 tsp. finely grated orange rind, (optional)

Heat oven to 350°F. Cream butter; beat in egg, molasses and banana. Mix in remaining ingredients just until blended. Pour into greased and floured 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.

Bake in 350°F oven for 50 to 60 minutes. Cool on wire rack.

Makes 1 loaf.

This is an unusual taste for banana bread, but good.
