CHOCOLATE SHEET BROWNIES
2 sticks butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. hot water
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans

FROSTING:

6 tsp. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
6 tsp. milk
1/2 c. chocolate chips

In a saucepan put butter, cocoa and hot water. Bring to a boil quickly and pour over flour and sugar which have been mixed together in a mixing bowl. Stir. In a small bowl mix beaten eggs, vanilla, buttermilk and baking soda and add to chocolate mixture. Stir in nuts. Pour batter into 11 x 16 inch (jelly roll pan) which has been well greased and coated with a little cocoa or flour. Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. While brownies are baking make frosting by bringing to a boil the 6 teaspoons butter, milk and sugar. Add the chocolate chips. Remove from heat and beat well with mixer or egg beater. Pour over the hot Brownies as soon as they come out of the oven. Cool before cutting. In place of buttermilk you can use milk soured with a little vinegar or lemon juice. (1 tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice to 1/2 cup milk).
