NUT CRISP COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening (Spry or Crisco)
1 c. light brown sugar
1 unbeaten egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Drop by spoonful on cookie sheet and press thin. Bake 325 degrees 6 to 8 minutes. Easy to make and will stay crisp indefinitely.
