GREAT GRANDMOTHER'S CORN LIGHT
BREAD
 
4 c. cornmeal
4 or 5 c. boiling water
1/4 c. sorghum syrup
1 egg
Salt

Scald meal with boiling water. Add enough boiling water to make a stiff mush. Add sorghum syrup and salt to taste. Set in warm place until it ferments, from 12 to 15 hours. Add the egg. Put into greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours.
