GREAT GRANDMOTHER'S GINGER BREAD | |
1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter and lard mixture 1 egg 1 c. molasses 2 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. hot water Cream shortening and sugar, add beaten egg, molasses then dry ingredients. Add hot water last and beat until smooth. Bake in greased shallow pan for 40-45 minutes in 350 degree F. oven. |
