HOT BEEF DIP 
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. milk
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1 (3 oz.) smoked sliced beef, chopped
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms (optional)
1/4 c. Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp. chopped parsley

Saute onions in butter. Add milk and cream cheese; stir over low heat until cream cheese is melted. Add remaining ingredients; heat thoroughly, stirring occasionally. Serve hot with French bread slices, if desired. Makes 2 1/2 cups.

Variation: Substitute 2 1/2 oz. package smoked sliced turkey for 3 oz. of smoked sliced beef.
