CLARICE'S CHILI CON CARNE 
3 slices bacon
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1/2 lb. ground beef
1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
1/2 tsp. salt
Dash pepper
1-2 tsp. chili powder
1 (8 oz.) can red kidney beans

Cook bacon until crisp. Remove from skillet and reserve. Saute onion in drippings until tender. Add beef; brown well. Mix in tomatoes, salt, pepper, chili powder; cover. Simmer for 45 minutes. Add kidney beans and bacon; simmer uncovered for 5 minutes. Serve in bowls or over rice. Makes 2 servings.
