SCOTTISH SHORTBREAD 
1 lb. butter, softened
1 c. sugar
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream sugar and butter; add flour and salt. Put dough in refrigerator to stiffen, about 20 minutes. Pat into a baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Or use cookie press; add colored sprinkle, if desired. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
