LAZY DAISY OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. Quaker Oats, uncooked
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Pour boiling water over oats; let stand 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy, gradually add sugar and beat until fluffy. Blend in vanilla and eggs, add oat mixture, mix well. Sift together dry ingredients; add to cream mixture, mix well.

Pour batter into well greased and floured 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees 50-55 minutes. DO NOT REMOVE CAKE FROM PAN.

FROSTING:

1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3 tbsp. half and half
1/3 c. chopped nuts
3/4 c. shredded flaked coconut

Combine all ingredients, spread evenly over cake. Broil until frosting becomes bubbly.
