HARD CANDY 
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. water
Food coloring as desired
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. flavoring oil

In a small, heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, and water. Cook to 300 degrees on candy thermometer.

Remove from heat; add food coloring and flavoring. Pour onto greased candy block; cut immediately with pizza cutter.

NOTES: Esther rolls this in ropes and cuts it with shears, which makes very pretty serving pieces, but my hands won't take it.
