BANANA APPLESAUCE BREAD 
3 ripe bananas
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. applesauce
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. flour

Place bananas in large bowl and mash with electric mixer. Stir in the sugar and let stand 15 minutes. Add the applesauce and eggs and beat well. Beat in the baking soda, baking powder, salt and vanilla, then gradually beat in the flour, mixing thoroughly. Pour into a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan that has been coated with nonstick spray.

Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean. Remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes before removing from the pan.

Makes 1 loaf.

OPTIONAL FROSTING:

1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
3 tbsp. milk

Beat until well blended. Frost bread.

I love this recipe. I cut the sugar to 1/2 cup. It's great with Nutella spread on top as the perfect snack. I've always wondered if the 1 tablespoon of baking powder is correct, but it looks like. Mine usually takes a good 55-60 minutes to bake.

This is my only go to banana bread recipe! I have made biscotti cookies out of it also which my husband loves. I have even frozen this and no problems. Need to try putting cinnamon or nutmeg in it next time.

I used all organic ingredients. In order to make a more intense chocolate flavor I did add 1/2 cup of baking cocoa, with a tbsp. of dried decaf coffee to enhance the chocolate flavor and used 1/2 honey instead of the sugar. It came out great!

I added chocolate chips and substituted 1/2 cup almond flour. Mine was not fully baked at 45 minutes. Center was still very wet. Put back in oven with foil over top to prevent the top from being overdone and dry. Baked for 20 minutes longer. Very tasty and moist! Glad to have omitted the butter!

Love this basic recipe. As other have done previously, I added a little bit of honey roasted wheat germ, cinnamon and some pecans that I had from holiday baking projects. It's a great basic recipe that you can do anything with. Only had 2 bananas so I adjusted, and baked in a 9x13 pan rather than a bread pan. It was a great consistency (not too dense) and tastes delicious!

Trying to watch my calories & sugar intake. I substituted the white sugar with 3/4 cup. of raw stevia instead for a healthier version. Everything else the same except I sprinkled some cinnamon into batter for flavor! :)

Loved this recipe! Great way to use up extra bananas! I made muffins with it instead of bread. I used wheat flour instead of white, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup sugar and a touch of cinnamon as suggested. Today I'm making it with peanut butter chips in the batter and using the frosting recipe listed. 350°F oven, approx. 25-30 minutes. Yield 10 large muffins.

It was okay. I've had much better. I added extra banana, 3 is never enough, and added cinnamon. I can't imagine how bland it would have been without it. I even added 1/8 cup olive oil and it still isn't that moist. I've made other applesauce banana bread recipes that have come out amazing. I won't make this one again, but it was worth the try.

Yummy! Uses 3/4 cup of chopped almonds and used 1/2 cup of brown sugar instead of white and added an extra teaspoon of vanilla. Made into 20 muffins and cooked 30 minutes at 350°F. Very good and moist!!!
