1 c. sugar 1 c. boiling water 4 eggs 2 c. flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla Cream sugar and egg yolks, well beaten. Add boiling water. Sift flour and baking powder three times and add to first mixture. Then add stiffly beaten egg whites, add vanilla. Bake in greased cake pan (9x13) in hot oven about 350 degrees. Cool and cut into squares, frost with the following: 3/4 pound of butter and 3/4 pound of sugar creamed. Spread on squares and roll in 1 1/2 pounds of ground nuts (pecans, English walnuts or peanuts). Makes 36 squares. |
