PECAN CINNAMON SHORTBREAD BARS 
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups all purpose flour, sifted
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

1. Heat oven to 350*F. Grease bottom only of 13 x 9 -inch pan. In a large bowl, combine butter and sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. Add flour, cinnamon, salt and vanilla; mix well. Stir in 1/2 cup of the pecans. Press dough in bottom of pan.

2. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup pecans over dough; press in lightly.

3. Bake at 350*F. for 30 to 35 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely. Cut into bars.
