SPANISH SLAW 
1 head cabbage, chopped fine
1 onion, chopped fine
1 bell pepper, chopped fine
1 tsp. celery seed
Add pimento or red pepper (for color) or stuffed olives
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. celery seed
3/4 c. oil
1/2 c. vinegar

Bring sugar, salt, celery seed, oil, and vinegar to boil. Pour over cabbage mix. Cover and marinate 12 or more hours in refrigerator.
