CASSATA CAKE 
1 qt. milk
6 tbsp. cornstarch
8 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 stick cinnamon
Maraschino cherries
Pound cake
Rum
Milk chocolate shavings

Boil cinnamon stick in 1 cup of the milk for 3 or 4 minutes; remove cinnamon. Combine sugar, cornstarch and vanilla with remaining milk, stirring to dissolve.

Add hot cinnamon milk and boil until pudding is thick, stirring constantly.

Slice pound cake and place it in the bottom of an 8"x8"x2" pan. Sprinkle with rum. Add 1/2 of the pudding while still warm. Shave chocolate over pudding. Add another layer of cake, rum, pudding and chocolate. Decorate with cherries. Refrigerate.

NOTE: Double this recipe if you want to use a 9"x13"x2" pan.
