FRESH CRANBERRY CAKE AND TOPPING 
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. diced dates
1 c. fresh cranberries
2 grated orange rinds
1 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. oil

Mix dry ingredients together. Add nuts, cranberries, and orange rinds. Combine milk, oil, and eggs. Mix together other ingredients. Pour into greased tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes. Cool 10 minutes before turning cake out of pan. Pour topping over. Wrap in foil. Refrigerate.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 c. powdered sugar

Mix and pour over cake.
