3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 tbsp. milk

Sift flour, measure, sift again with baking powder and salt. Cream shortening and butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla, egg and milk. Beat thoroughly. Add flour mixture; mix well. Chill dough one hour for easy handling. Roll, cut with greased cutter. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees.
